I have a problem with...

People and school districts that refuse to acknowledge Martin Luther King. This man literally died for what he believed in. Without him, America wouldn't be what it is today. I mean, he changed an ENTIRE NATION and we can't take a second to say thank you, or happy birthday? What kinda mess is that? I remember last year we had school on his bday and I was complaining because I felt like if we was to have school, we needed to dedicate that whole day, TO HIM. But we didn't. Nobody said nothing about this man. I just feel like that's disrespectful especially since my school is predominantly African American.



Well, Happy Martin Luther King Day. And Happy Birthday to you Martin.

I think I want something really settle. My name, my real name...La'Vonia, which french and it means "The sun has risen." So I'm thinkin, instead of getting just getting my name or something pointless (like everybody else gets) Ill get something that will stay the same for ever. Anyway, I'm gonna get "The Sun has Risen"...in the french dialect. But, the only problem is, I don't know any french.

I went on goolge translater and got this: "Le Soleil s'est leve" which literally means "The sun rose"

But then, I went on bing translater and got this: Le Soleil a augmente" which literally means "the sun rises"

So like, I'm kinda thinkin to get "Le soleil s'est leve" because it means the same thing just in a different form.

 

Michael Cera: Probably the type of guy I need in my life

Well at least the character's he portrays on film. He always plays the guy that you really don't look at because he seems kinda nerdy/geekyish. But in the end, he's the one for you. I think I need someone like that. But I don't think I have anyone like that in my life...or maybe I do and I just haven't paid any attention to him. #sigh. Poor guy. Hey, if you exist and you're reading this blog, next time you see me, grab me by the shoulders and shake the H-E-double-hockey-sticks out of me and tell me that you're the one.

Whenever I get a Job

I think that I'll probably get a job this summer. Although I say that EVERY YEAR and never do. So, more than likely, I'll get one in college because this is when I'll actually have to depend on myself to eat and stuff. I feel like, when I finally get a job, I'll like, dress really cool and always have my hair done. I wanna be the cool girl in class who doesn't realize how cool she is because she's just being herself. #yeah. I think that's me come August 2011. #CAN'T WAIT

So, since my "number 1 pick school" or whatever you call it denied me, I'm looking at UIC-University of Illinois at Chicago. Hopefully I get in. I think I have a pretty good chance if I hurry up and get all my stuff in. (sigh) I accidentally told this high-maintenance girl in my AP English class that I was going to Mizzou. She said she already picked out our dorms and stuff. I really don't wanna share a dorm with her. She's super high maintenance and annoying. omg. I don't even want to stay on the same floor has her. ugh. So, please UIC accept me so I can be safe in downtown Chicago...away from her. I mean, she barely even knows me. This is the first time we have talked since like, freshman year! For all she knows, I could have gone crazy since then. (sigh) UIC...let me in!

I've been busy.
What can I say?
I actually have a life.
-No offense to those who spend there live long day on the internet.

Last week though, I caught a little cold that wounded me enough to not want to do anything. So yeah. And like i said in an earlier post, school is starting to really pick up. I figured if I have time to get on here, I have time to study. Hey, precalc ain't no joke.

I think KU...Kansas University has become my first pick, or is it called top choice? IDK. Whatever. But is it bad that it's my first choice because I have a good chance of getting in? The required GPA is 2.5. I got that beat...3.65. My ACT scores don't really match there's but, the requirements said you can have a 24 on the ACT OR be in the  the top 1/3rd of your class....(I'm not sure if I'm in the 1/3...but I know for a fact that I'm in the top 10%)  OR  you can have a 2.5 GPA or higher. I also meet the curriculum requirements. All I need is my last math credit that I'm currently working on. But that's not the only reason. KU is like on of the best schools in the country I think for just about any health profession. They're also good in those "prefessional" careers like Premed, prevet, prelaw etc. I guess the only down fall is that it's in Kansas...the state. They have like cows and corn there. And the diversity isn't that diverse. Comfort is a big factor for me.

So yeah...that's what I've been up to lately. Planning for my future...I wish I could already be there...this is so stressful.
